The Smart Pianist is a special app that provides a variety of music-related functionality when connected to a compatible instrument.

In addition to selecting piano voices, you can use Smart Pianist to adjust parameters such as reverberation and other factors that affect the sound of the piano.
2. Backing band accompaniment that you can sing along with (CSP Series only)
Enjoy accompaniment from a dynamic backing band, even when you’re playing by yourself.
3. A variety of piano lesson pieces
You can play back song data such as Preset songs and commercially available songs.
4. Play your favorite songs right away with the “Audio To Score” function (CSP Series only)
Smart Pianist features an ""Audio To Score"" function that automatically creates a piano accompaniment score from songs on your smart device, allowing you to enjoy playing along with your favorite tunes.
5. Play your favorite songs right away with chord progression

Disappointing app
Thought Smart pianist audio to score was quite a promising feature that made buying the CSP 295 GP worth while. But it is so limited in any editing functionality. You can’t change the score time signatures in between songs. You can’t choose to change chords to the root, first or second inversions. You can’t add things like pauses to the score. You can’t display or change the chords on the score display itself. You have to keep toggling between the score page and the chord page, which is really not user friendly. The song light learning features are all really easy songs. Only useful if you’re a total beginner. And limited options to expand the limited list of songs. Can’t multitask on iPad with this app. Once you switch to another app in the iPad, even though this app is still open in background, the connection to my piano is disconnected. And let’s say you want to rename a user song, if you long press to bring up the copy and paste text, it appears in JAPANESE! So many things that needs working on before it can be considered a decent app. For the thousands you pay for the piano, you would expect much better app functionality and user experience.
Does not support CVP701B
I just brought my piano not long ago. But the smart pianist app does not support my model CVP701B. I was very disappointed. Can Yamaha update it’s software to support my model?

Keeps disconnecting extremely annoying takes forever to connect and then disconnects almost immediately.
