Sound cancellation super . Sound quality way better than my AirPod Pro 2 . Battery was disappointing initially, it seem to drain pretty faster on one side . However after i did a reset and it seem to be working fine now ,finger cross . I gave my AirPod pro to my wife and I am happy with my XM5 😁

Inconsistent, and cannot ‘add device’.

SONY makes great products and the WF1000X and MD1000 are examples, both of which I own and use. Updating these devices is a real pain because this app, which is required does not work according to the English sequence properly, and worst of all, the pairing/connecting additional head sets failed. It’s frustrating when SONY’s audio division fails to understand users need these to work even if we are iPhone users. And there is nothing we can do. The SONY shops don’t care and you can’t take time to go to Customer Service. And worst of all, another division (‘Digital’) does the apps and online registration and I can never log in to my SONY account in spite of own cameras and accessories. Products are great but if you don’t need to app to work with later versions, then be happy if you can at least connect one device and update it for now, knowing that SONY digital support isn’t going to care when Mark 3 or a later version comes out. Very disappointing if you bother to buy high end products from this brand unless they turn things around and start caring about end-user experience.

Volume doesn’t respond when needed

When I try to control the volume using my iPhone, it doesn’t change on the earphones - I’d be watching Netflix at a much higher volume and when I wanna listen to music I’d decrease the volume. However, the music will be blasting at the original volume (that I was watching Netflix at) instead of the new volume that I had decreased to. This is just a generic example- If I switch apps and change the volume the earphones do not play according to the new volume. I don’t have this issue with my other wireless earphones. Sony needs to fix this, as this poses a potential problem for people’s hearing.

Additionally, would be great if the noise cancelling mode does not activate by default if only 1 earbud is connected. It’s a hassle for people who only uses one of the earbuds for various reasons to keep having to go into the app just to turn off noise cancelling mode.
