Stocks Live+ Best Stock Market 4+

This got to be the most posh stock app I've ever seen. It has almost everything you could ask for and then some. The only thing missing is the ability to set alerts. But even without this feature, the app clearly beats all its competitors flat. The user interface is so beautiful and more importantly, logical. Navigation between screens is so simple because of the clean logical design. The display is as efficient as an aircraft dash board, with all the most important information easily accessible and neatly presented. The ability to automatically add a reminder to your calendar for a company's earning announcement date is so thoughtful! This is one app that I keep going back to many times a day, whether the market is open or closed. If you have to buy a stock app, your search is over, get this one! It really offers a lot of bang for your buck! Now.... if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to my app to monitor my stocks :)

I love the new portfolio manager. I call it a portfolio manager because I can really manage my portfolio from this tool. In most other stock apps, if you have multiple positions in a stock, you will be presented with multiple entries for that stock in your portfolio. In Stock Live however, being true to its design philosophy of clean, logical and efficient presentation of information, you will be shown only the total holdings for that stock. But clicking on that stock, you can dig into all the different positions you have for that particular stock. So your portfolio view will always be neat and never be cluttered with multiple repeated entries. Looking and 'playing' with the portfolio tool always makes me feel like a big-time fund manager :) I am addicted to looking at my portfolio, especially when there are green everywhere ;)
Speaking of green, version 2.4 introduced a fantastic new visualization tool, called Heat Map, which is an in-app purchase. From the developer's introduction, this looks exactly like the Heat Map you see in CNBC! With one exception..... this heat map is YOUR personal heat map, showing only the stocks and any relevant information you are interested in, and even indicating with a little heart icon if any of the stocks is in your portfolio. CNBC can't beat that! With anticipation, I clicked my greedy little finger on the buy icon, but nothing happens, which I learnt later was due to a submission error by the developer. And this feature will only be available for purchase in the next version (2.5). What an anti-climax!
Ok, one more little interesting comment. When you first run the app, there are some useful tutorials being introduced. But one item caught my attention. It is a short but very insightful advice from the developer on how to use Stock Live to help you trade successfully. After reading thru the article, it dawned on me that Stock Live is more than just a watch list or portfolio tool, it can actually be a real trading tool that can help you trade profitably! I have always had the impression that only tools like Tradestation or Ninja Trader running on a powerful PC can be considered real trading tools and iOS apps are only just.... apps (read toys). But apps like Stock Live is just as useful as any desktop tools and can really be added to your arsenal of trading tools for profitable trading. The Activities section of Stock Live may easily be overlooked by many users because the other sections are just so beautiful and colorful to look at. But there is a wealth of really useful tools in the Activities section to help in your trading. You owe it to yourself to explore that section of Stock Live and to read that short article by the developers on profitable trading (can be accessed in the News section). They clearly understand what they are talking about, being traders themselves.

In summary, Stock Live has just outdone themselves again with this new version and version 2.5!

Great job by the developers of this app, its beautiful, stable and well thought of.
However for serious traders, we would expect to see stock indicators such as MACD or RSI for a better follow up.
Please bring that in the next version!
