Description

Tot is an elegant, simple way to collect & edit text across your Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It’s your tiny text companion!

⁕ Less Is More
Tot’s single window design and simple formatting controls mean no more hunting for that chunk of text. Seven color-coded dots let you organize your notes while keeping them from getting out of hand.

⁕ Dark / Light Mode
Designed to look stunning both day and night, Tot takes full advantage of iOS and macOS themes.

⁕ Small Footprint
Stays out of the way on the desktop with minimal chrome and can even be controlled via the Menu bar. On mobile, each dot is just a swipe away.

⁕ iCloud Sync
Seamlessly syncs your text across iOS and macOS using iCloud so you can capture thoughts wherever you are.

⁕ Markdown Support
Full support for rich or plain text and even automatically translates text to Markdown for handy use on the web. Have an RTF file you need marked up? No problem!

Simple, yet effective!

Tot is a great, simple and somehow powerful app that definantly boosted my productivity by a great amount. Its so simple yet effective. I have been looking for an app like this, and Tot is even better than I thought! One question for the devoloper is 'can you create more than one note pad?'
Thank you The Iconfactory!

A handy little helper! Simple, lightweight, intuitive, effective.

Love love love this app. I am a scatterbrained person who's usually working on multiple things, and this works great as a little 'notepad' for random notes or lightweight brainstorming... bonus points because I can't lose it. Absolute gamechanger, and it’s honestly such a QOL improvement I would happily pay a few dollars for it.

Things I really appreciate:
✔︎ I like that I can have multiple notes at once (that was a major source of frustration with a previous text app I used), while the dot-tab layout keeps things from getting cluttered
✔︎ Colour coding makes things much easier for a visual person like myself
✔︎ The ability to switch between rich text and plaintext is extremely helpful
✔︎ The interface is simple and intuitive, and I love the little design touches (e.g. dots are greyed out when the note not in use, currently active note is a solid circle, etc.)
✔︎ It also functions great as a clipboard for larger snippets of text
✔︎ Word count feature comes in surprisingly handy
✔︎ They credit the individual team members in their update logs which is really cute
✔︎ Great for drafting short amounts of text — I wrote this review in Tot :)

Feature Request / Suggestions:
➔ It would be amazing if we can have numbered lists (1, 2, 3 maybe with sublevel a, b, c?) — the need for this doesn’t come up that often for me, but when it does it would be really helpful.
➔ For bullet lists, the only unintuitive thing for me is that indenting a sub-level requires you to ‘tab’ first before inserting your bullet (rather than pressing ‘tab' at the start of your text string auto-indenting, like in MS Word). Might be worth mentioning in the Getting Started / Help guide?
➔ Option to toggle the Symbol Picker to be permanently open would be fantastic. Maybe within the bottom bar / as a 2nd bar above the bottom bar, or a small 1-2 row ‘pinned’ window in the lower right corner? I don’t know how common my use case is (or how complicated this would be to implement), but as someone with terrible memory I tend to forget things exist unless I can see them 😬 and one doesn’t tend to glance down into the lower right that often.
