Great Game... Rules need some Modifications
This is a great game to play for the sailors out there.
It’s not always realistic, for example a boat on the same tack and same breeze sailing straight over the top of you, maybe that was the developers boat?
The main frustrating feature is penalising the windward boat when the leeward boat suddenly luffs up, the penalties are significant and you lose so many places, unlike a real race. This needs some attention to avoid frustration for the sailors amongst us!
IMOCAS
On the upwind legs right after the start there is a tacking sequence due to the barrier. After tacking, upon reaching the yellow line, you are dutifully greeted by boats barreling towards you on Starboard. Quite often there is a boat to windward, however you can’t tack right into them as that is “procuring the right of way”. Ultimately you end up with two choices, get a penalty due to being on port , or get a penalty for procuring the right of way. Penalties are so harsh in this game, especially right after the start, it can dictate whether you win or lose a race. It’s rather annoying. Otherwise, this a beautiful game, thanks for making a game that is so accessible to the general public, including those passionate about sailing. It can be seen that so much care and effort have been put into this game, and for that I thank you.
