Life as a shark, it’s pretty tough. What with all that constant swimming and all. In Hungry Shark World (the even hungrier sequel to Hungry Shark Evolution) it’s also one long mission to survive. And it involves eating, lots and lots of eating.
This lightning-fast game, with intuitive phone tilt controls, features several dozen shark species, including the top dog (of sharks that is), the Great White. There’s even a selection of prehistoric sharks which, though extinct, are game for a go in this feeding frenzy. Whoever you choose, there’s really only one goal here: eat, everything.
With an insatiable appetite, nothing is off the menu: fish, turtles, submarines, the occasional unlucky human etc. But not everything is edible. If your shark isn’t big enough then a poisonous jellyfish could be the unfortunate end for you. And don’t forget that other sharks are an even bigger threat. Everyone’s in competition in the deep blue, so watch your fin!
Despite the lurking dangers, you’re top of the food chain, you can do as you please, swim where you want. Migrate to the warmer climes of the Arabian Sea or the chillier currents of the Arctic. Try the North and South Poles too, there’s lots of tasty penguins and seals to chomp on there. The ocean is your, eh, oyster.
Dress your shark with a bow tie, a necklace and a pair of headphones to become the coolest predator around. Remember also to elevate your shark’s power with gadgets that will make it swim faster, bite harder and generally get sharkier.
So, jaws at the ready... this is a dining experience like no other.
