Best presentation program

In my opinion this is still the best presentation program on the market. It offers a lot and can be graphically really intense.

It was the best, then it was good, now its mediocre

When Keynote09 arrived all those years ago, with the Magic move an’all, it was a revelation. It was the No. 1 reason for me to switch to Apple platform entirely.
Time has passed. Since then Apple changed from being a nieche software/hardware computer vendor to being the iPhone&stuff vendor. And it shows. For several years the Keynote improvements have been held back to wait for iOS to catch up. The OSX version got a new GUI with crippled functionality to show for it.
Now the improvements are held back for the iCloud to catch up: several years in the making and the iCloud is still useless for professional purposes (100MB presentation, videos etc. on a typical University presentation computer, i.e. an old PC running Firefox - does not work).
So here we are in 2017. I still use Keynote as my main presentation tool, force of habit (forcing the habit, of coure, is all that Apple is about; it’s called locking the user into the Apple ecosystem*). No 3D integration (IT’S 2017, GIVE US 3D!!!), no new features for 8 years (I stand corrected, there were additional text animations introduced last year - IT’S 2017, NOT 2007), not even a new style. After all this time, I am tired of my presentations all looking the same. My students are tired of my presentations all looking the same. And yes, we are all tired of Apple Keynotes all looking the same because Tim Cook and the rest of Apple's executives desperately hanging on to Steve Jobs' charisma by using the exact same presentation style HE introduced more than a decade ago.

I am giving it a 2 stars for good old times sake. If you are not yet locked into Keynote, do yourself a favour and use “the other one” = MS PowerPoint.

*P.S. Writing this review within App Store application I realized, it doesen’t even offer a spell check!
