ABOUT THE GAME
Space Marshals is a Sci-fi Wild West adventure taking place in outer space! This tactical top-down shooter puts you in the shoes of specialist Burton in his hunt for dangerous fugitives after a disastrous prison break.

TACTICAL COMBAT
Use the environment to your advantage. Avoid attacks by taking cover. Flank enemies for extra efficiency, but avoid getting flanked yourself! Use the tools of the trade to gain an edge - frag grenades, flash bangs, distractions, personal shields, proximity mines and more.

STEALTH
Choose your approach with care. Some say running into the fray guns blazing isn’t always the best option. Use distractions to single out opponents. Use disguises and covers to sneak past irrelevant guards. Use silenced weapons to covertly reduce the enemy numbers.

LOAD-OUTS & GEAR
Choosing your load-out is a big part of your tactics. In addition to body armor and grenades you can carry one two-handed and one single-handed weapon in each mission - and there’s something for everyone. Shotguns, handguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, crossbows, energy weapons, throwing axes and more.

Editors’ Choice

After a jailbreak at an intergalactic prison, dangerous criminals are on the loose—and that’s great news for action fans. Pixelbite’s top-down tactical shooter flings your grizzled lawman and his crew into tense scenarios best tackled with a mix of stealthy flanking and brazen running-and-gunning. The controls are smooth, the graphics are gorgeous, weapon upgrades keep coming and a fun story effortlessly propels you from one mission to the next.

Simply wonderful.

Before I start, you should know that I completed this game twice, and at the time of this review I reinstalled it about a week ago, finishing the story two days ago, and now moving on to complete it a third time. So, Let's start. Is the game a good shooter? Absolutely. The insane variety of weapons, traps, decoys, grenades, ammopacks and medkits, stun guns and more (yes!) not to mention armours and disguises, you can not only pick between running and gunning and stealth, but between running up to enemies and stunning them and using them as cover (stun and gun) or going with a tactical SWAT-like loadout, or being a stealth sniper, shooting enemies in the face from so far away they don't notice, or start being suspicious of fellow stormtroopers with a crossbow. Oh, and did I mention the enemies? There's 2 hostile factions, one being a hi-tech evil corporation, the other being a classic wild west band of bandits (which will be the most common enemies you'll face at the start) which later get meaner when their kit and weapons get upgraded later in the plot after the corporation faction's evil plan involving them fails, unleashing better equipped criminals onto themselves, and, of course, you. There's plenty of different enemy types too. You have the grunts with the pistols,
Heavys with machine guns, shotgunners, snipers (they have a rythm to their shooting, so be observant!) "Recon infantry women" some wildlife (use a shotgun on em', it works best!) and Tiny. I'll let you figure out who that is. The game is split up into chapters and levels. You can access new levels anytime in your camp as well as old ones, which you'll have to to find clues to get to a new level and get rewards you didn't pick the first time around. Now, this may sound a bit boring to you, right? Well, don't worry, all these levels are quite open ended, acting as a playground for all your explosive and not-explosive (boo!) toys. If you're observant enough you'll rarely need to revisit older levels, but I firmly believe you will, even if you completely finished a level with nothing else to get in it. The story is decent, and doesn't waste your time with long cutscenes. It uses some visual storytelling to let the player figure out what the hell is going on, and-wait, why is that in the free clinic?!

This game has some quirks, like mr. Sparky the stun gun is incredibly useful despite it's supposed flimsiness due to how guards react to hostile contact (suspicion-investigate-see enemy-fire) which means they will wait a while to shoot which'll give you time to stun them and kill them without being shot once. Or how disguises will confuse you at first (you can walk slowly while mainaining a decent distance with the enemy, and use a disguise that way, but you opening doors is too suspicious and they will investigate, acting like you didn't wear a disguise next time you meet) but overall it's a fun, very replayable adventure. 5 TAMI score outa five.
