Great, in-depth content, intuitive user interface
I’ve been doing meditation with the Waking Up app for around a year now. The content is great and Sam Harris always goes in depth. What I love is that every day, there are new meditation sessions, so it’ll never get completely repetitive. The user interface is simple and intuitive. I used to have a problem with choosing what kind of meditation I want to do (as there’s tons of them), but this app made it simple by interchanging different types of meditation every day, and sort of made that decision for me. There are also many lessons that focus one specific meditations, like working with pain or meditating in a public space. I’m also not a religious person and have always frowned upon meditation for stereotype o being spiritual, yet this app made meditation seem like a completely rational, not a spiritual, practice. Highly recommend!
Everyone should try Waking up
I tried some meditation apps but this one is the best in my opinion.
Its based on real profound benefits of mindfullness and not only some studies about it. And actually it looks great great.
The biggest difference is that meditation before was for me only a temporary experience not connected to normal daily life.
Waking up is not like that.
You can use the things you learn here while doing any activity throughout your day and when you learn to be mindful, you won’t really want to stop ever being mindful.
Its not just meditations in it, but ton of conversation, daily reminders, podcasts, theory that often deal with human daily problems like - time management, thoughts, suffering and much much more.
Its not based on any religion or belief. Its just understanding mechanics of your mind and I honestly think its the key to everyday fullfilment and happiness.
Pricing: I paid 60€ for the first year after the trial version.
However Waking up offers a free membership if you cant afford it, without stating a reason. I didn’t use this because I could afford it, but it says a lot about whats the goal of this app.

Great app
I’ve tried few meditation apps and there are several good ones. What makes waking up great is Sams scientific background and deep meditation experience. Thanks to that you get clear explanations without pseudoscientific or superficial content. This helps especially if you are starting with meditation. Even if you are more experienced there is a lot of great content from Sam and his guests.
