Inkwork

Turn photos into art

View

Take any photo and turn it into a work of art. There’s more than one app claiming to do that. What elevates Inkwork is that classy results are immediate, configurable and available to order as physical wall hangings.

The latter is thanks to a partnership with CanvasPop. You can capture or import a snap, see it turned into a handsome pen drawing and then pay for a framed print.

There are over 90 ink style variations. Using a wheel at the bottom of the screen you select from 15 primary variations ranging from comic format through washes and scribbles to more experimental approaches.

Inkwork transforms photos into artworks, that you can then order as physical copies.

There are nuances in thickness for each, plus another tap brings up further fine-tuning options. You can even tweak the paper and ink colours.

Once you’re happy, tap the button at the top to share with social media platforms. Or why not request a physical copy of it? There’s an order form inside the app. It offers a range of sizes, from 10 by 8 inches posters and canvases of all sizes, up to a massive 38 by 38 inches in a frame. The latter is, of course, more expensive.

Inkwork does one thing, and it does it with effortless style. With a few taps, we’d snapped a photo of a cat, tweaked it into a coarse sketch on sage-coloured paper and ordered it as a gift in an espresso-coloured frame. Cute.
