In this city-builder you begin with a blank grid, a reasonable amount of cash and a totally unreasonable amount of ambition. From here you start with the basics: roads.
Then you build zones – be they residential, commercial or industrial – by selecting a point on your grid and dragging out until you’re happy.
Next up, provide power and water by building the appropriate services and making sure they connect to your road network. Just be careful about where you put them as residents can be picky.
As your population grows you’ll need to build and upgrade banks, hospitals and police and fire stations as well as recreational locations to keep everyone happy and safe.
Building things in your city will yield XP, which is used to level up and unlock new and more impressive constructions. If you’re looking for a quick XP boost you can complete straightforward quests or host public events.
Need a little direction? There are plenty of city statistics that will guide you towards your next move without bogging you down. However, be prepared for natural disasters – these will try to destroy your hard work and cost you cash.
Fans of SimCity will feel like they’re coming home, but even if you’re completely new to the city-building genre, Pocket City is intuitive and very easy to pick up. The real challenge will be putting it down.
