Description
The Walkability App is a citizen reporting tool available to anyone in the world who wants to share their walking experiences. The app has been designed to encourage those with responsibility for walkability to respond positively to the data and, in time, for citizens to re-evaluate the impact of their works. People walking are able to rate their current location in a traffic light system: good (green); some concerns (Amber); and problems (red). The app provides universal symbols to categorise opinions and in addition there is the opportunity to add comments. The app invites users to self register by age, ability and gender, so that authorities have the opportunity to be inclusive with the design and management of streets and public space.
