Construction Simulator 3 takes the meaning of both construction and simulation to new heights.
To build up your fledging construction company, you have to take on contracts of all kinds. You start by removing a tree blocking a road, and – eventually – you end up building entire houses. You’re involved at every level, too. Parking your vehicles, manually controlling the machinery, driving to and from locations: it’s all on you.
Seriously, it’s hard to overstate how deep the simulation in this game goes. You even get speeding tickets. Behind it all is a deep set of controls and systems that allow players to manage every detail of their business.
New vehicles can be bought or rented, and levelling up each contract – and the resources required – is painstakingly detailed in an array of different menus. But you’re rewarded handsomely for a job well done: bonuses are available for work performed quickly and well.
If it sounds daunting, fear not. Construction Simulator 3 has a series of equally detailed tutorials to help you get to grips with everything. And even though you get out what you put in, it’s brilliant fun if you just want to use a digger to make a ruddy great hole in the ground.
