FEATURES
Clef Games: Treble Clef Game (G Clef), Bass Clef Game (F Clef), Alto Clef Game (C Clef) and Tenor Clef Game (C Clef)
No matter what instrument you play or what clef you need to learn, you can learn to read music with Learn the Notes. The graded levels, from beginner to advanced, allow you to progress at your own pace — even allowing you to skip levels if the material is too easy. The interactive games are timed, therefore, in order to advance through the levels, the player must be able to accurately identify the pitches before the clock hits zero.
Learn the Notes interface lets you choose your preferred method for interacting with the games, including using note buttons or a virtual keyboard with your mouse/trackpad or (since Learn the Notes is both MIDI and Bluetooth capable) directly from your midi instrument.
Concentration Games: Simple Concentration, Concentration, Xtreme Concentration
To help learn music symbols and terms Learn the Notes also includes three versions of the famous concentration memory card game. The concentration games can be played with 1 to 4 players. If the games are played by a single player, the game levels are graded. However, if there are multiple players, the players can select the level of difficulty.
Simple Concentration
The player matches cards that contain both a picture of the music symbol and the text of the symbol's name. When a player selects a card, Simple Concentration uses the mac’s text-to-voice system to say the name of the symbol. This enables the player to simultaneously hear the name, see the name and see the symbol.
Concentration
The playing surface is divided into two distinct areas. The left side has cards that contain pictures of the music symbols while the right side has cards that contain the written text for the symbols. The player must match the music symbol's picture with its correct text.
Xtreme Concentration
Essentially the game is the same as the Concentration game (match a picture card with its text card), except there is only one unified playing area and all the cards are mixed together — that makes it harder for the memory!
Glossary
Learn the Notes includes a basic glossary of music terms to help you keep track of all the new music terms you are learning.
Progress and Player Tracking
Learn the Notes provides both a score tracker for each game (allowing you to monitor your progress) and a player tracker so an unlimited number of players can use the same application.
