Who ordered all these monsters? In Pizza Hero, you’re a rocket-powered slice of ’za who uses toppings as weapons to keep the baddies at bay. Level up to add shuriken-flinging sausage and other zesty ingredients—repelling waves of fiends until the exit portal appears. Mmm...delicious!
What we love: Those tasty toppings. Choosing pepperoni lets your heroic pie hurl sticks of meaty dynamite; picking olives forms a whirling shield. Spices are handy too: Oregano boosts damage, while chili makes you shoot faster. Think pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza? Wait till you wield its piercing laser beams!
Quick tip: Follow the brick paths to liberate helpful pets and destroy high-value targets (like wood-fired pizza ovens) for loads of XP. And if you spot a round arena early on, run in circles inside the perimeter, shooting baddies as they pour out of the portal. It’s an easy way to level up quickly!
Meet the creator: Sebastian Barrotta and Ivan Perfetti make up Astro Hound Studios, the Toronto-based indie developer of Kitty Catcher, Crust Crusaders, and the irreverent platformer The Gaem. Pizza Hero’s default sidekick—a pooch named Max—is based on Barrotta’s own 12-year-old black Lab, who was with him throughout the game’s development.
