Global Warming Science and Model is our impressive instructional software on global warming and the resulting climate change. It provides a logical sequential series of engaging simulations of the important concepts needed to understand why global warming of the Earth is happening. These simulations along with the supporting information provided make the concepts involved much more accessible and meaningful to students than what can be found in text books and/or many web sites. The software also includes an authentic atmospheric/ocean coupled global climate model (GCM). This final simulation has a simple elegance. It is easy to use with clear understandable results; yet unleashes the incredible computational power of your iPad or recent desktop computer, and uses many advanced methods, to deliver compelling inference on the future of the Earth (note iPads older than 2014 are too slow to reasonably run the GCM module).

The content for the software, and the included GCM, are based extensively on the technical reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), NASA, and NOAA. Through our software this information is made readily accessible to students in order to provide them with a sound scientific understanding of how greenhouse gases provide our planet with the global climate we have and why it can change. It also provides students with insights into the many uncertainties involved in predicting the future of our climate due to the nonlinear complexities of the feedbacks mechanisms involved in the Earths dynamic climate system.

This instructional software includes hands-on lessons and excellent off-line labs which together can provide weeks of curriculum for grades 8 to college; or which because of the software’s module design, can readily be used with other existing curriculum.
