Viewable can be used as a low vision aid to magnify text or images. It provides seven levels of magnification, variable brightness and color or high contrast black and white.
Objects can be viewed with the desired magnification at a typical reading distance. Alternatively, objects can be held as close as 4 inches.
There are two main advantages offered by Viewable:
1. Close viewing distances do not cause the discomfort or eye strain that is associated with high power reading glasses.
2. When viewed at higher magnification and at a near distance, objects will fill the entire visual field. This allows images or reading material to be more easily recognized for people with low visual acuity, or with patches of vision loss such as in macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy.
