Best app ever but a mistake

why 6/2(2+1)=9 ? It should be 1

This app uses the standard order of operations to calculate the result, also known as PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction), where operations are evaluated in the order listed and then left to right. So in this case because 2+1 is in parenthesis, it is evaluated first, so the equation becomes:
6/2(3)
now this equation is actually the same as:
6/2*3
because the 2 and (3) next to each other, which is an implicit multiplication. So now the final two steps are evaluated left to right (multiplication and division are in the same grouping of operators to evaluate so they are evaluated left to right):
