Insulting, sexist recommendation algorithm

I’ve been reading the paper on this app for about a year. Today for the first time, I opened the “For You” section. It showed me only advice columns about family matters related to babies, weddings and religion, topped by a cartoon of a squalling baby. Nothing else. Not one other topic. Then it proclaimed me “all caught up”, as if this is all I need to know. My husband is shown different fare, while we have similar interests. Please explain, why is that? Sometimes I look at those pieces, but my interests are related to investing and foreign relations, I have an PhD from an Ivy League university, and I used to manage a business intelligence firm. I live on the other side of the planet from my family and do not have children, but I imagine even women who do would not enjoy unrelieved exposure to these topics. Your recommendation algorithm could not be more regressive and insulting if it had been designed by Phyllis Schlafly herself. Do better.
