Explore 15 years of gaming

Would you have believed it if you were told 15 years ago that some day it would be possible to carry more than a decade’s worth of console and PC gaming with you wherever you went? Yep, probably not! But how we play games has evolved in such an incredible way, that you can now dive just as deep into the same games whether you’re playing them on your commute or on the big screen at home.

Let’s take a nostalgic journey through the last 15 years of Mac, Windows and console gaming with some of our favourite hits to play on the go with your iPad or iPhone.

2003 - Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic™

Back in 2003, we got a glimpse of what happened 4,000 years before the saga in a galaxy far, far away. This enormous role-playing game became the fastest selling game on Xbox at the time, and it’s easy to see why. More than 15 years later, this is still an experience no Star Wars fan should miss.

2006 - Titan Quest

If old-school exploration, gear upgrades, mythological creatures and solid role-playing tick all your boxes, then Titan Quest is for you. The fantasy game was originally released for Windows computers in 2006 and is still a must-play classic.

2012 – XCOM®: Enemy Within

Way back in 1994, UFO: Enemy Unknown became an instant strategy hit. It was reimagined in 2012/2013 as XCOM: Enemy Unknown for Mac, Windows and consoles and expanded with Enemy Within. Planning your next move and deploying your troops using touch on iPhone and iPad makes for an even greater turn-based experience.

2014 - Transistor

The agile Red fights robots with style and has been doing so since the game was first released in 2014 for Mac, Windows and consoles. With Transistor on mobile, you can enjoy the same cyberpunk adventure on the move. Remember to put on headphones so you can fully enjoy Darren Korb’s amazing accompanying soundtrack.

2014 - Banner Saga

Norse mythology, turn-based strategy and gripping storytelling: this is what makes Banner Saga such a thrill. Since its release on Mac, Windows and mobile in 2014, the universe has been expanded greatly, but this is a good place to start diving in.

2015 - Her Story

Led by a gripping performance by actress and musician Viva Seifert, Her Story is a dark thriller that will linger in the back of your mind long after you’ve logged off. Released to critical acclaim for Mac, Windows and mobile in 2015, this is one interactive film you don’t want to miss out on.

2016 - Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI

The classic strategy series about world domination shows no signs of yielding. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI was released in 2016 for Mac and Windows, and for Linux in 2017. On mobile it’s free to try for 60 turns before you decide on purchasing the game.

2016 - Crashlands

This game is silly: in a very good way. It’s also a great example of how to combine adventure, crafting and humour to brilliant effect. Released in 2016, Crashlands supports cross-platform save, so you can play at home on Mac, Windows or consoles and continue your adventure on iPhone and iPad whenever you feel the need for action and adventure (which is always, right?).

2016 - Oxenfree

Strange and supernatural occurrences are on the menu when your group of friends depart for Edwards Island. In Oxenfree, an accomplished coming-of-age tale about ghosts and friendship, nothing is what it seems. In 2016, the first scares were to be had on Mac, Windows and consoles, soon followed by mobile versions.

2016 – Playdead’s INSIDE

As a dark successor to the already bleak LIMBO, INSIDE took the world by storm in 2016 on Windows and consoles. In 2017 we got a chance to solve puzzles in the monochromatic adventure on iPad and iPhone. Again, headphones at the ready to tune into the sombre, atmospheric soundtrack by Martin Stig Andersen.

2017 - Fortnite

Since 2017, the battle royale genre has exploded and just like in-game, the fight for first place is fierce. Fortnite is a runaway success with more than 200 million registered players by the end of 2018. If you’ve yet to land amidst the action, you’ll have cross-platform play options between Mac, iPhone and iPad, Windows and consoles. With an iPad Pro, you even have a blazing fast 60 frames per second to really unleash that competitive edge.
