Legend of Fei

After his role in The Untamed, Wang Yi Bo makes a huge comeback in the wuxia-themed Legend of Fei. Heroine Zhou Fei, whose grandfather was an infamous thief, escapes from the fort where she grew up and by chance meets Xie Yun (played by Yi Bo), a free-spirited martial arts pro. As they practise their fighting skills together, their friendship soon transforms into an undeniable love.

Be With You

In this romantic comedy, Qi Nian is an aspiring cartoonist who reaches out to a cold-hearted professor, Ji Yan Xin, to learn how to craft the plot for her new comic. Can love blossom between this unlikely duo? If you’re a dog lover, the plot also features a gorgeous golden retriever who might just melt the professor’s heart.

Overlord

During the Tang Dynasty, intense fighting takes place among clans for control of territory. Amidst this we meet Long Aoyi, the head of a clan that helps poor people, who is forced to team up with the wealthy Li Qingliu to solve the mystery of a lost box of golden thread. Overlord is as much an exploration of inequality and class as it is a good old-fashioned story of finding romance in the unlikeliest of places.

Take My Brother Away

Based on a Chinese webtoon, the Japanese anime Take My Brother Away revolves around two siblings, older brother Shi Fen, and his younger sister, Shi Miao, who he is constantly making fun of – and she in turn likes to get her own back. This is a nice easy watch, with each episode lasting only three to five minutes – perfect for bite-size entertainment that will have you reminiscing about your own relationship with your siblings.

Go Ahead

This modern family melodrama is the kind of thing that could bring you to tears, in a good way. Go Ahead features three kids who come from different but complicated families, and now live together. On the cusp of adulthood, what direction will their lives now take? It’s the perfect coming-of-age show, which beautifully portrays the dynamics of a family that we can all relate to.
