Scary fact: 91% of all user passwords appear in a list of the 1,000 most common passwords. That means if you’re someone who uses passwords such as letmeinplease or even the seemingly more complex q1w2e3r4t5 (that’s actually a basic keyboard walk of the top left two rows of keys) then you are eminently hackable. If you then use that same password for multiple accounts then, ooof, you’re in trouble.

Add a Master Password for extra security.

What you need is 1Password. This is an attractively designed, easy-to-use password manager that will allow you to generate a new super-secure, complex password for every app or website account you use. Never again will you have to worry about whether you were meant to type an uppercase A or a 4, a comma or a dash, a 6 or a G.

In fact, you won’t have to type in those fiddly chains of random characters at all. Just set up 1Password to autofill your logins for you. Or, on iPad, simply drag and drop your passwords into apps and sites.

1Password lets you store all of your passwords and important information securely.

Okay, so you still need to remember one Master Password to login to your 1Password vault (and make sure it’s a really, really strong one) but after that you can delegate your memory to 1Password. And, once you begin using it, you will realise it essentially solves life online—forever.
