Description

The application is an electronic version of pocket guide for children’s hospital care in Turkmen language. It is based on recommendations provided by WHO and has a mission to allow medical staff to have access to important information which can be needed to help children in hospitals (including recommendations on the stages of management of sick children in the hospital: emergency sorting assessment, methods of examination of children, laboratory tests, supportive care and monitoring, discharge and follow-up).

The application allows to:
- Get access to required information without Internet connection, once downloaded it will work.
- Make a smart search for required information. Search is implemented using keywords and links to proper chapters, so the user isn’t floated with lots of useless links. It helps users to save precious time and help their young patients quickly. Search is available for a quick lookup from both in-app and Spotlight Search.
- Users can calculate the right dosing for all recommended in this country, taking into account the patient's age and/or weight.
- Navigate between chapters using links. It allows users to quickly navigate to related chapters, get access to important information and faster make decisions about proper treatment.
- View information and status of the state of children's health in the country.
- View information on infectious diseases and vaccinations in the country.
- View contact information of the World Health Organization in Turkmenistan.
- Make notes on all pages and support those notes with images taken using a built-in camera.

Special attention is paid to the managing of diseases that are the main causes of infant mortality:
• Diseases of newborns, low birth weight, premature babies, sepsis, perinatal asphyxia and congenital anomalies;
• Pneumonia and other respiratory problems such as bronchiolitis, asthma and tuberculosis
• Diarrhea, acute and prolonged
• Fever, including malaria, meningitis, septic fever and rheumatic fever
• Severe eating disorder
• HIV / AIDS

This electronic application, developed by the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization will allow you to use the recommendations offline. Using this mobile application, medical staff in the most remote corners of the country will be able to care properly about their patients and to be sure that they follow the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
