Description

This version allows us to turn off the chat feature for large groups and events where there's a danger that the conversation might devolve into something less than ideal.

Sidekick's free app promotes connection, belonging and joy. We help you make new friends online by finding nearby people who share your interests in order to get offline and have fun together in the real world. We’re all about helping you create authentic friendships, find camaraderie, and enjoy the things you love.

Sidekick helps you:

• Find friends nearby who share your hobbies and interests
• Filter potential friends by age range and gender
• Chat and connect
• Find nearby groups and events centered around your interests
• Create open invitations for others to join you in fun adventures and activities

Sidekick helps you get you off your phone and into your life. Connect online, where it’s safe, in order to share adventures offline, where it’s real.

We understand the anxiety of not knowing what to talk about at a first meetup, or of not being sure the other person will like the same things as you. That’s why Sidekick’s connections are based on shared hobbies and interests, not photo-shopped pictures, machine algorithms, or boosted/paid-for rankings.

We’ve done away with much of what makes existing social media so toxic: likes, follower counts, comments, and the pressure of connected profiles from Insta or Facebook. It’s also why we’re strictly platonic and focused entirely on helping adults make new friends. We know that everyone wants friendship to be different than dating.

Use Sidekick to meet your new friends one-on-one, or make it a party by inviting larger numbers. You can even create new groups and events for free.

Sidekick lets you be specific about your interests. Don’t say you like “sports” or “music.” Say you prefer Krav Maga or playing in a string quartet. And share details about your interests, things like your ability level and when, where and how you like to do the things you love.

We take safety seriously. We have multiple layers of authentication – and plan to add more – so you know you’re talking to a real person, not a bot. We’re an app for making friends, and we won’t tolerate inappropriate or overtly sexualized/dating-oriented behavior. And we have humans doing content review and moderation, not just AI.

Sidekick believes that when we share an adventure, we make a friend. Use this totally free app today to find your people online and start having fun offline.
