Description

IOA The virtual reality pool has been designed for people to experience what it is like, to go into a swimming pool, in a fully immersive and interactive way.

Introduction to the (fully interactive IOA pool) (subject to our standard terms and conditions of purchase).

The Aquaphobia Learning Programme was written & developed by master coach Mike Burman, with support from leading figures in the UK leisure industry and the University of Chichester.

Millions of people whether through fear, trauma, phobia, stress, or a lack of decent lessons will have never had the opportunity to know what it is like to be stress free and happy in a pool.
Aquaphobia affects individuals from every conceivable background, regardless of age and it is one of the “great levelers”. Wherever the person is from, or whatever they may do, being scared of water can be life-changing for that person and their family and friends.

Aquaphobia often is the cause of social exclusion and affects mental and physical wellbeing. If not professionally treated, there is a fair chance they will pass their phobia on to younger family members and generations.

The IOA VR pool is a safe and gentle way to experience what it is like to be in the middle of a large swimming pool. To walk around on the poolside and go into the pool from the stairs, or even jump in from the side. In the ALP VR pool, you can submerge (duck under) and move about underwater or go into the deep end and even stand on the bottom. You can also float on your back and your front.

Before you book your ALP lessons at your local pool this is a wonderful way to help you understand and learn about the aquatic and pool environment, from the comfort of your home. In fact, we think it is so realistic in full VR, that you can actually feel like you are in a leisure centre for real, one of the few things we could not replicate was the smell of the chlorine but we are working on that too. For further information or support, please contact info@instituteofaquaphobia.com

The scene starts in the changing room, you can walk around by using your mouse, holding down the left button or by pushing it forward. Or using your finger on a tablet or mobile devices.

Listen to the calming voice of your relaxation coach. You can play our great selection of relaxation videos on poolside (on demand). Enter the pool at any point (jump in) or via the pool stairs. Users have access to all areas, shallow and deep ends.

(Click the instruction boxes to do that action or a combination of actions) Try lying down and floating, ducking under, swimming and standing up. Swim into the deep and go under the water.

You can only exit the pool using the stairs in the shallow end. We hope you enjoy the pool and all the things you can do.

Best wishes
