Lots of games feature adorable kitties just begging to be cared for, cuddled with and dressed in cute costumes.
CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars is not one of those games.
This action-packed battler features lots of fluffy felines, but these cats are more interested in building customised, weaponised fighting machines than getting ear scratches.
It’s up to you to ensure their robotic rides outlast the competition in short demolition-derby matches. These play out automatically, but you tweak, customise and upgrade the vehicles with wild new parts between bouts.
Bringing out the big guns – a monstrous rocket-launching, chain-saw-wielding jalopy – doesn’t guarantee victory. The physics-based action can be unpredictable; even a low-level forklift can overturn a seemingly impenetrable laser tank. A few hours in and you’ll have a dizzying array of parts to mix and match as you claw your way up the leaderboards.
And never fear, feline fans – no cats are ever harmed in the making of CATS. Kitties eject from demolished rides and parachute to safety. But they still won’t want to cuddle.
