Description
Microcavity is used to control the whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) microresonators based miniature sensing system wirelessly. As the photonic sensor of this system, WGM resonators have features of ultra-high quality (Q) factors and small mode volumes, which have found broad applications in photonics, such as cavity quantum electrodynamics, optomechanics, bio/chemical sensors , nonlinear optics, microlasers and non-Hermitian optics. In order to explore the potential applications in Internet of things for WGM resonators, a wireless WGM sensing system is developed, which not only integrates bulky equipment into a phone-sized embedded system, but also achieves the functionality of remote control by iPhone. This app enables you to view live transmission spectrum of WGM sensor, make measurements, and capture instruments screenshots from your iPhone.
