Description
VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player.
It can play all your movies, shows and music in most formats directly without conversion.
It allows file synchronization with Dropbox, GDrive, OneDrive, Box, iCloud Drive, iTunes, direct downloads and through Wi-Fi sharing as well as streaming from SMB, FTP, SFTP, NFS, UPnP/DLNA media servers and the web.
VLC offers support for advanced subtitles including full SSA compatibility, multi-track audio, playback speed control and rendering through Chromecast.
VLC is completely free and open source.

This application still does not have picture-in-picture. What a shame…

We might do it by the end of the year, but this is not sure yet. This is quite difficult to do for VLC.
Subtitle problem on screen resize
When shuffling through screen size modes (16:9, 4:3, Center, Best fit, Fit screen, Fill), subtitles behave as if they are part of the video, they scale/move with the picture itself. This is an issue when for example, video comes with the black bars, if you put the video in the "Fit screen" mode, subtitles are getting pushed down and cut off.
