Lífshlaupið er heilsu- og hvatningarverkefni Íþrótta- og Ólympíusambands Íslands sem höfðar til allra aldurshópa. Forsaga Lífshlaupsins er að árið 2005 skipaði þáverandi menntamálaráðherra, Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, starfshóp til þess að fara yfir íþróttamál á Íslandi með það að markmiði að móta íþróttastefnu.
Starfshópurinn setti fram hugmyndir um mótun íþróttastefnu Íslands í skýrslunni, Íþróttavæðum Ísland, aukin þátttaka, breyttur lífsstíll.
