Description
NeoRate is a newborn resuscitation training App for healthcare professionals to use during simulated training. It provides timers, videos and quizzes to assist learning.
NeoRate is a newborn resuscitation training App for healthcare professionals to use during simulated training. It provides novel timers:
1. Visual timer to improve the accuracy of heart assessment, and the time taken to do this.
2. A 2s metronome timer for 3:1 cardiac compressions during simulation.
3. A vital signs timer to estimate common physiological rates.
There are training zones and videos with descriptions on how to use the App and compare your technique with commonly used techniques during simulation allowing the user to see which method works best for them.
During simulations with over 150 newborn healthcare professionals the timers have demonstrated more accurate heart rate assessment, faster assessment times and more compliant 3:1 CPR. No additional equipment is required and the App can be used during simulations to explore if it works for you.
NeoRate is free to use and was supported by the University of Nottingham, Surepulse and Chiesi Foundation during the development. We welcome feedback at neorateapp@gmail.com
