Description

Become a citizen scientist today with the help of AI and help collect data about New Zealand marine mammals! Photos and location data of these animals are extremely useful for conservation efforts. As you snap we will share all the data with marine scientists, DOC, MPI and anyone else who needs it.

Key features:
- Capture photos of New Zealand Marine Mammals.
- Artificial intelligence computer vision will uniquely identify Maui dolphins based on their fins
- Artificial intelligence computer vision classifier will help you identify the species or animal group you are looking
- All data is made publically available and shared with anyone that needs access.
- Level up as you collect more data of different species around New Zealand.

This app has been developed by MAUI63 in collaboration with Christchurch City Council, DOC, MPI, Microsoft and WWF. MAUI63 is a not-for-profit on a mission to collect marine mammal data with technology.
