古時一年的開始在12月25日或者3月25日或者9月1日。如今一年的開始為1月1日，而且都統一使用格里高利曆法。這款App按照在歷史研究和天文計算通行的慣例，從公元1582年開始使用格里高利曆法, 之前則用儒略曆法。因為伊斯蘭歷依賴毛拉本人的觀察，而且伊斯蘭歷一天的起點是太陽落山，所以伊斯蘭歷的數值與天文計算所得到的數值有時會些許差別。
