The Noordung Air app is an essential component of the Noordung electric urban bike and the standalone Noordung Air electronic device, which can be universally installed on any bicycle. Both the Noordung electric urban bike and the independent Noordung Air device are equipped with a sensor that monitors air quality, specifically targeting the most harmful particles, PM 1.0 and PM 2.5.

These minute particles, with diameters of less than 1 or 2.5 micrometers, pose significant health risks. The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified these particles as among the top threats to human health, affecting virtually everyone. Over 99% of the global population resides in areas that fail to meet WHO air quality guidelines. Exposure to particulate matter is linked to cancer and numerous cardiovascular diseases (WHO.int > Air Pollution).

Similarly, by evaluating outdoor air quality, users can track pollution levels along their cycling routes.
