It is above all for the sake of training and informing the Haitian population in general, the Artibonitian youth in particular, that Radio Xplosion originated in the heart of the salty land, Gonaïves, the proud City of Independence. In fact, the station officially launched on the airwaves on October 23, 2007. Its first test broadcasts were made on the frequency of 90.3 FM for four months. For reasons beyond the control of its staff and at the request of CONATEL, the station changed its broadcast frequency from 90.3 FM to 96.5 FM. The official inauguration took place on February 14, 2008. To mark the occasion, various activities, such as musical performances by disc jockeys, launching of fireworks, donation of posters, jerseys and caps with the logo of the station…, took place on the Place d'Armes in Gonaïves.
With a digital transmitter with a power of 1,000 watts, Radio Xplosion can be received easily and without relay on 96.5 FM Mhz in almost all the main cities and communal sections of the Far North of Haiti (composed of the geographical departments of Artibonite , Northwest, Northeast, and North); making Xplosion the most powerful and listened to radio station in the Artibonite Department.
