Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.

It removes ads, restores picture-in-picture, and keeps videos playing in the background.

Note: The "can read information from webpages" text in the permission section is just unfortunate wording. Vinegar needs access to the web page to find the YouTube player and replace it. It's not doing anything creepy!

(By the way, check out Vinegar's companion app, Baking Soda. It's basically a less powerful version of Vinegar, but it works on all websites other than YouTube.)

Remembering playback speed does not always work

Remembering playback speed does not always work. Especially, when the next video is forced to change resolution due to lack of your default resolution. Would you please fix this bug so that once I set the playback speed, it will be fixed and remember to all the following videos? Thank you so much.

It’s quite nice overall

“Double click to forward” actives sometimes I unexpected, especially when gesturing two fingers to makes video into full screen. It would be great to optimized its sensitivity, or adds an option to disable this function in setting at least.

Btw my device is iPhone 12 mini

Bug Report

- Clicking on timecode links within the video does not navigate to the specified timestamps

- Changes made to the video quality settings do not take effect on playback
