Radio Maria Tanzania ilianza kurusha Matangazo yake rasmi tarehe 26/04/1996 huko Jimbo kuu la Songea, Kusini mwa Tanzania. Ilianza kama Radio ndogo na kwa neema na msaada wa wa Mungu kupitia wasikilizaji wake na wafadhili; kile kilichoanza kama mbegu ndogo ya haradali (Matayo 13:31-32) sasa inasikika sehemu kubwa ya Jamuhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania; tukiwa na masafa yapata 12 (Masafa kumi kwa Tanzania Bara na masafa mawili kwa Tanzania Visiwani). Kwa kifupi kati ya Radio za Kanisa Tanzania, Radio Maria inashikilia namba moja kwa kusikika sehemu kubwa ya nchi, ikiwa inaongoza kuwa na wasikilizaji wengi.
Radio Maria inatoa mafundisho yake katika ngazi kuu nne; Liturujia, inayochukua mambo yote yahusuyo sala, maadhimisho ya Misa Takatifu, Sala ya Rozari Takatifu nk. Mafundisho ya Kanisa / Dini; Mafundisho ya kijamii/Elimu Dunia na mwisho hutoa burudani na habari.
