The last update of a reading mode is really annoying
- buttons are always remaining and I regularly pay attention to them when scrolling text, because they are stable in contrast to moving text. Also they cover some words and hide them. This is very irritating
- There is also some bug with back to page number. It is constantly available not regarding I wasn’t on that page recently
- while 30 min reading session I accidentally make bookmarks around 5 times because of a new gesture. So I open that tools panel to remove it every 5 min. And still don’t understand the gesture that stands for it and if I’d like to make a bookmark, I’d use a button.
- the tools panel (menu you can open with right bottom button) has really poor contrast (dark mode reading, dark iOS mode). Because of buttons located on separate panels and I can see book’s text between them, it’s really difficult to read those buttons labels.

First of all, the positives - UI looks sleek, book covers are nice, the library features titles on many languages other than english, including but not limited to: chinese, german, polish, bulgarian and serbian. But that's when we pretty much run out of positives and come to the problems. You have no way to sort books by languages and you won't know which language a book is until you open its information and scroll down. The books of many classical authors are present in a strange state. Here are some examples: Goethe's Faust has 5 editions, 2 of which are in german and 3 in english, one of the english books has only the first part of the original. "Nikolai Gogol" and "Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol" are registered as two separate authors. Not only that, but Gogol's books, originally written in russian, are only present in english (occasionally german, french or other) translations. The latter is sadly true for most authors I've checked: Pushkin, Dostoyevsky, Honoré de Balzac, Nietzsche. The app has not even one book in russian language. Many books which are public domain aren't present. For example, there are no works of H. P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Nikolai Lermontov or Stanislaw Lem. Also there is no Bible.

I would like to share my disappointment about the latest update to the Apple Book app. The developers seem to have decided to reduce the size of the text fields in the app, and this has resulted in a serious inconvenience when reading.
The text on the page is now too narrow, even though half of the screen remains unused. This solution causes the number of words on each page to shrink, and I think it makes reading and comprehending the text much more difficult.
When I read a book, I want to immerse myself in the story and enjoy every moment. However, because of the narrow text box in the Apple Book app, I have to constantly scroll through pages to read enough text. This distracts from the reading process and spoils the overall experience of the app.
I would like to ask the Apple Book developers to fix this problem. It would be great if they could increase the size of the text boxes to allow for comfortable reading and full use of the device's screen.
Apple Book offers a great selection of books, but this problem with the narrow text box really affects the overall experience. I hope the developers will take note of this feedback and take steps to improve the user reading experience in the Apple Book app.
