So you think you understand this thing you’re holding? Think again. Stop tapping. Stop swiping. In fact, stop touching the screen at all. To crack Blackbox’s puzzles you’ll need to find solitude and stillness, climb mountains, call on friends, get in tune with the cosmos, and think outside the box.
Minimalistic visual clues make for incredibly satisfying “Aha!” moments, while sonic interfaces provide an extra level of guidance and nuance that makes Blackbox accessible with or without vision. Thoughtful haptic feedback, Easter eggs on Easter eggs, and solutions that can’t be found beneath the glass of your screen redefine what a puzzle can be. You’ll never see your device the same way again.

This is a hotfix! iOS 17.4.1 broke some stuff, but I fixed it (hotly)
■ Fixed a certain double dark-teal challenge that was crashing on launch.

The most ingenious thing about Blackbox’s puzzles isn’t that you solve them without tapping or swiping. It’s that you’ll happily spend hours figuring out the game’s subtle clues. Do you need to tilt your iPhone, shout into the speaker or do something a lot trickier? Thinking creatively and finding the answer feels deeply rewarding, even profound—earning Blackbox an Apple Design Award.
The best puzzle game I’ve ever played!
This is an amazing job that brought me joy and some brain cells) But there’s something I want to share — 1 puzzle is not working. I’ve solved all puzzles except with the search-bar — it’s not working!
What is so clever here?
The first "challenge" is just a dot at the center of the screen and it forces me to pollute in my iCloud / Photos.
It could be called an unique "gameplay" but it became obvious from the start that these guy(s) have just used every possible feature available to the app and called it a gameplay. I do not find it nor the "challenge" clever - other game developers are well aware of the features available to the app and they are clever enough not to use them for things called "games".
Would be ok if it only used a gyro or camera, but it definitely must not affect the other apps.
Again, nothing clever in a box in the middle of a screen you should guess and screenshot for some reason. Did you know iOS can detect stuff like a person falling with the phone in his hands? At which level does this game asks me to smash my phone?
