Great, but

Where’s ability to manually turn on the dark mode in the last few versions? I have system-wide scheduled dark mode, but in the player I want dark look all of the time.

Covers and equalizer???

Depends on Apple Music app

Works only if Apple Music app is installed. Also, when playing via Cesium, if you tap on the song in the action center, it brings you to Apple Music app.
