Please fix TTS

This would be the best app for reading the books if native iOS text-to-speach wasn’t broken somehow in it. Problem: open non-audio book, start Apple text-to-speech (usually two-finger swipe from the top of the screen down, see accessibility settings > spoken content). The text on the page will be read aloud, but then instead of starting reading the next page it starts over the same page. This works properly in many other book reading apps, and it is a very important feature for visually impaired people.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your review! We're glad you're enjoying Scribd and we apologize for any frustration with our current functionality with Apple TTS. Currently, the application is designed to only read one page at a time via this system and you will need to turn the page in order to have it continue reading via Apple TTS.

That said, our engineering department is currently working to correct this. Accessibility is important to us, and we hope to see it corrected soon. We'll pass along your feedback here as an additional example of this request and, for now, thanks so much for your time, and have a great day! -EC

unbelievable!

Pls do not delete my review as the problem wasn’t taken care of!!!
I had long and exhausted communication with your support team. It lasted for months!!! I provided everything needed for them to understand what my problem was about - screenshots, screen recordings, text info - but eventually, after months of trying to get some help, I was told that the problem I had should be addressed to Apple!!! (Apple dictionary didn’t work correctly only in the Scribd app; all other apps worked fine). So why then your support agents had been telling me over and over again that they were working on the issue? Absolutely inappropriate attitude to your users!

The library of your app is great, it is regularly updated with new titles - this is something I couldn’t find in other similar apps! However, the communication with your support team is awful! I had been waiting so long for the problems to be fixed to finally hear that nothing is being fixed because it’s Apple’s problem. It’s your problem, guys, because only your app is somehow struggling to work with Apple dictionary. Now you are publishing the updates of your app every two weeks or so, and even the issue with the themes (i informed your team about it as well) isn’t fixed! So, what are you actually improving?? You are losing your users because of negligence and unwillingness to hear your users out! It’s a huge dissappointment because the app itself is a gem!

Scammers

After renaming Scribd to Everand, the service deteriorated terribly. They put some unclear limits on prepaid service. How is that possible? January was a slow month for me. At the beginning of the month, I started one fiction book, put it down, and skimmed through one non-fiction book—I wasn't really interested in reading it all the way through. I also started listening to multiple audiobooks but only finished about 30% of one book. I intended to either not finish the remaining portion or try again at a later time. That's it. I decided to save one of the e-books because I had planned to read it in the upcoming days. I noticed the next day that all e-books were unavailable with the note "You've reached your limit" ??? And the book will be available next month? How come? Where does it say exactly what has exhausted my limits? Where are the clear rules? Where does it specify precisely what has reached its limit for me? Where are the unambiguous guidelines? Quantity? Where are the rules' transparency? If I had known that listening to certain novels would push me over my limit, perhaps I wouldn't have started (I only listened to a few minutes of each). What level of gluttony and blatant misrepresentation of clients is this?
