FilmSpotting is an application for cinema enthusiasts who have discovered the recently popular trend of traveling to destinations that served as filming locations for movies, known as setjetting.

With the FilmSpotting app, you can search for your favorite movies, identify where their scenes were shot, and when you're nearby, attempt to capture a photo identical to the original frame from the film. You can then share this photo with friends, who will compare the actual movie set with your Shot rendition. Capturing such a photo is made easy by a feature that overlays the original movie frame as a transparent guide while taking the photo.

Each Shot is linked to an authentic frame from the film, specific coordinates indicating its creation location, and basic details about the movie such as the director, production year, and genre. Additionally, the app includes photos taken by other users against the backdrop of the set. You have the flexibility to choose whether your photo is set as public or private.

If you're aware of the filming location for an iconic scene that's not yet in the system, you can personally add it, along with any of your missing favorite movies.

Wherever your travels take you, you can easily locate the nearest Shots and their distances. The app even integrates with Google Maps to help you plan your visits and see which Shots are situated close to your intended destinations. Shots that you particularly enjoy can be marked as favorites, and those receiving widespread likes will be showcased in the 'Most Popular' section.
