Google Maps - Transit & Food 4+

Add the ability to select the starting location when opening the app. I don't want to drain my phone and usually turn off geolocation, and when I open the app it starts somewhere in Texas, although I live in Europe, I would like to select my city as starting when I have geolocation turned off. Overall the app is simply amazing ❤️

This is a very bad and inconvenient app, especially since I’m constantly riding my motorcycle. My phone is in my pocket or bag, and I listen to directions and routes through my headphones, without looking at the screen. I don’t have access to my phone while riding. When I choose a route, the app selects the shortest path but doesn’t take traffic into account. As a result, the journey takes longer. When I choose a route that uses a faster highway, the app changes it, simply saying that a different route has been selected, and if I want to keep the original one, I should tap. But I can’t tap because I’m riding. Also, when I approach a junction, the app often doesn’t announce whether I should turn left or right. I don’t know if it’s the main road and where it’s going. Sometimes I guess the correct direction, sometimes I don’t. And if I don’t, I waste time making U-turns. This is very frustrating, but at the same time, there’s excessive information. When I’m driving straight for 5 kilometers, at almost every traffic light, it tells me to 'continue straight.' Why do I need this information? If you’re not telling me to turn left or right, I understand that I should go straight. In summary, the app ignores essential information while repeating unnecessary information multiple times. I don’t see the point of this.

Dear team of Google Maps,
your perfectly developed mapping service is known all over the world. In Ukraine and Russian also. The coverage of satellite imagery is highly detailed with resolution up to meter per pixel. It is amazing to use your service in every part of the planet and for free. But only in the time of the piece.
Today in Ukraine occuring a war, where every day Russian invaders kill dozens of civilians and defenders of Ukraine. Using Google high precision satellite coverage, saboteurs inside of Ukrainian cities or soldiers of regular Russian armee can orient perfectly and plan potential terroristic acts against Ukraine.
It is sad to write, but now they are invading everywhere. Therefore, to help Ukraine save lives and save the important and dangerous infrastructure objects from attacks by Russia we kindly ask you to blur the satellite coverage within Ukrainian borders. Please ask the providers (Terra Metrics, CNES, Maxar Technologies, Airbus, Landsat, Copernicus, U.S. Geological Survey) of satellite imagery for your service to reduce the resolution of the scenes of Ukraine immediately.
Google Street View needs to be turned off as soon as possible.
