What we love: Not every language journey starts at “bonjour”. A 10-minute placement test assesses your level before personalising a goal-based (fun, education, communication, etc.) study schedule. The visual exercises aid language retention, while providing cultural and colloquial tips along the way. Post-lesson reviews and quizzes turn weaknesses into strengths, as you continue the voyage towards fluency.

Meet the creator: Named after an endangered language in Cameroon, Busuu was established in 2008 by Bernhard Niesner and Adrian Hilti who met at business school in Spain and quickly bonded over their love of language.
