iPhone user
I want to be able to play and pause with headphones and if i stop listening maybe 20mins in and stop, and then start again if I’m playing from lock screen and actual app the times don’t match up. So I’ll be twenty minutes in and go to the app and it says I’m 2 mins in..same inconsistency with the ‘unplayed’ section...not a huge deal love the content but thought you might appreciate the feedback
Incredible content, app needs updating
Thank you so much for publishing these as a bundle! I could not be happier with the content, but would like to make some suggestions for how you can improve the apps:
- The “Unplayed” menu loses its memory. i.e. After playing an episode it no longer appears under Unplayed, but then comes back on the next launch of the app.
- A general, iOS 7 UI update would feel goo.
- Use the system audio player. The app currently can’t be controlled from the lock screen or Control Center, nor with bluetooth controls in cars.
- Use podcast-style rewind and fast forward controls. With these controls, pressing rewind or fast forward will scrub just 10 seconds rather than to the beginning or end of the track. This is incredibly useful when you want to hear just a small portion repeated, and is common functionality in podcast apps, including Apple’s.

As said before,great content- terrible app
To write that this app is a bit bare bones might still be too optimistic.
Watts has such fantastic knowledge and a wonderful way to share it, but good luck backing up a half minute to listen to that clever part a second or third time. There's no quick back (15 or 30 seconds) button.
It isn't made for an iPad so using it with your of in landscape mode means it's tilted 90 degrees.
There's no sync between devices. Listen to it at home, then jump in the car- you'll be searching along to find that spot again.
For me, the pause/play button visible on the phone's lock screen doesn't pause or play! You must open the app to do this.
Each of the three app icons is called "Alan Watts". I have no idea which is essential lecture or seminars... So I open and fuss with them trying to recall which section I was looking for.
Will all this stop me from using the app?
Nope.
Will it make it more difficult to use?
Absolutely.
Is it worth $65?
Nope and nope.
Surely this content can be sourced elsewhere (library loan?) and loaded into the phone's player making it much easier to use.
Simple Touch? Are you listening to your customers?
Tune this app up a bit and many of us will sing your (and Watts') praises!!
