Description
HaEdut (the Testimony) series is a linguistic adaptation of the Old Testament into Modern Hebrew. This project is the fruit of a hard and prolonged work by the HaGefen Publishing team. The series, which has been published in five volumes with spectacular illustrations, became a pioneer translation of the original Hebrew Bible text into modern Hebrew. Its primary intent is to encourage Israeli youth to read the Book of Books by presenting it in accessible and understandable language for them.
HaEdut is not an interpretation of Scriptures, but a literal and trustworthy verse-by-verse translation of the Masoretic text. The app allows the user to read the text of HaEdut in parallel with the Masoretic text, or with English and Russian translations of the Bible. The app is recommended for high school students in Israel, foreign students who study Hebrew, new immigrants learning the language, and anyone else who would like to understand the Bible better in Hebrew!
