This is my favorite koi koi app. It’s clean and simple. Bug free (mostly).

However I do not read Japanese so it can be tough. There is no English. I wish there were.

Also I have noticed that if this is the last app I use before bed, my battery will be completely drained by morning. I imagine it has to do with the way the ads are served. It’s a major flaw. Make sure you exit the app and close it completely to keep this from happening.

Last but not least I would absolutely pay to remove ads, but there is no option to do so.

No ugly clutter or bells or whistles to distract you. Turn off the special effects (slapping sounds) and the background music and enjoy the flawless graphics that showcase the traditional hanafuda works of art. The more than 150 year old game is never boring and in this version your opponent makes very few mistakes. Ads are there but do not block the view. Just one main ad after end of each game which can be set for six or twelve “hands.” There is even an option to turn off the little triangles that show which cards can capture from the field. In summary, this is an app for those of us who just love to play the game of Koi Koi in its purest form. Thanks Developer San.

Beautiful classic cards on a board that gives a full view of the action. One of the few that allows the hints to be turned off. The third item in settings does this. A 150+ year old game that is one of the world’s best card games. No bells or whistles or flashy graphics detract from the play and the competition is good but can be beaten. Enjoy!
