Best vocabulary app ever!

I minored in German and Arabic in college, and later took part in multiple military language programs. I’ve seen them all. When preparing to take my family abroad I sat down and tried out six apps for building their vocabulary (and restoring mine). Drops blows the rest out of the water. Other apps have basically recycled old-school teaching styles with flash cards, lists, and quizzes. Drops adapts to the new world. The learning style is visual, auditory, and dynamic, engaging the brain. My family loves it. My teens are having fun and retaining the knowledge.

I highly recommend the lifetime (Genius) access plan. It is a (really, really) good deal as far as language programs go. I think you are going to see others mimicking this style in the future.

Could use some sentence Structure stuff

I use Drops so i can learn more German outside of class, and i really love it. I love it so much in fact that I pay for the Premium offering. and it's great. however, i don't really know how to apply what i have learned. I have learned a couple hundred vocab but without knowing how to put it into proper sentences makes it feel worthless almost.

what i would like to see added is an option to learn how to put sentences together with the words you have learned. i know this sounds like a lot of work, but people would probably be willing to help out (like duolingo). this is the only thing that's making me go to other apps after my 15 minutes of german and dutch. if you guys were able to implement something like this i can guarantee people would pay for it, and i would exclusively use Drops. 4.5/5 overall.

Really great just doesn’t teach grammar

I really love drops and I’ve been using it for a while now to expand my German vocabulary. It’s helped a lot with understanding people talking in German because I can hear the words I know and fill in the rest. It has been difficult learning how to speak German myself because this app doesn’t teach you grammar, but I’ve been using other things for that. It would be really nice to have it all on one app in one place, but I understand it must be incredibly difficult to make an app of this quality and it’s helped me a lot!

In my opinion, better than Duolingo!

This app is so much better than duo lingo. The only thing I like about duolingo is how you spell out the sentences with words, instead of pictures. An easy fix, just please, please, PLEASE have Drops use words instead of pictures! Like for example, have Bitte, and then the options to choose from are please, hello, car, and bye, and then you match it to please. You could also make another thing where you match please and the options are das auto, der buch and things like that.

Love it, & one tweak

I love the app. I use it everyday. I got hooked on the 5 minute segments twice a day with the bonuses. When the price dropped I had already been debating on the polyglot lifetime for about a month. I am so glad I bought it outright.

I would love it if you could add some metrics such as time spent and maybe a way to compare with my friends. On other apps I can harass my friends who slack and give props to those who are knocking it out. You could do number of words... average word strength... words over 50%... streaks... total time...

If you’re reading this review Drops is such a good language app I’ve been wanting to learn German for such a long time and Drops actually helped me do it this is my first lesson but I’ve already learned several words and can memorize them easy drops makes it so fun to learn too you get to play little games so if you’re reading download drops to help you learn German or any other language.

I love drops!!

I have never been able to learn vocabulary so quickly! Repetition truly is the key, and drops has mastered this technique while also making language learning interactive through different exercises. I have never felt so motivated to use an app because usually the information goes in one ear and out the other, but with drops it sticks and I feel like the 5 minutes is always a good use of my time!

It's GOOD but could use an update

I usually don't write a review unless the app is trash or pretty good. Drops is a very good app if you want to learn the structure of a kind of language. For instance in this app, German is the language. Moving on to improvements....can there NOT be PREMIUM ADS every time I finish a session? Thanks. And, I think that's about it. Thx for taking your time for reading! 😃

SO FAR POSITIVELY AMAZING!

This app, well like how it described in the previews, just work! Even the free version you get 5-10 mins of amazing learning time (i do this and other apps such as babbel and duolingo) and this is a great app to back up/ learn more of your launguage every day (note if i start to get displeased i will change my review to lower)

This is a rip-off

I signed up for a 7-day trial. I was billed for an annual subscription on the first day. I tried to cancel on day 2 but was told that my subscription was for one year and would not automatically renew at the end of the year. I am supposed to be able to use the service until renewal date a year from now. DO NOT FALL FOR THE FALSE TRIAL OFFER. This is about day 4 as I write. I will be contesting this charge on my credit card and with the Apple system. I just found this review option today.

THIS IS A RIP OFF.
