Eye opening app

great app!
Just downloaded and tested on a few shells—it worked surprisingly well! The design is clean, and the results are fast. Excited to see how the app grows!

Not what it’s cracked up to be

I purchased the seashell identifier and took pictures of shells I had identified. The first shell I tried was one from the bonnet family and the app incorrectly identified the shell all five tries. I didn’t try a Triton shell and it told me it was a Florida fighting conch. I changed the angle of the shell and took a different picture and then told me it was a Triton trumpet Instead of the angular triton that it was. Hoping to get my money back.

I’m sorry to hear the app didn’t identify your shells correctly. Some species within the same families can look very similar, and results can vary depending on angle, distance, and lighting. I’m working on improving the AI so it can better distinguish between these tricky cases.

. Real photos like yours are the best way for me to track down where the model struggles and make it more accurate.
