Description
Your phone's camera will keep getting better year after year... but this one will remain the same.
The 0.3MP Camera is a tribute to the button phone cameras from '00s, in those days, we had enough 0.3 megapixels and 640x480 resolution to capture the best moments. Now so many years later, those pictures seem so dreamy, so I've tried to recreate all aspects of making it.
Processing
The camera recreates all the artifacts inherent in the old CMOS sensors of mid-range phones, like bayer filter artifacts, dark and banding noises, blooming etc. You can pinch to zoom to make it more visible, the digital zoom will reduce the quality of the photo just like on an old phone.
Interface
The interface will be recognized by all who had an any Nokia with Series 40 or Symbian S60, all control is done with three buttons at the bottom. You can shoot on camera, record video or import your own photos for processing. Nothing extra.
P.S. This is the first (released 20 Jan 2023) and best app on the AppStore (over 33,000 five-star reviews) that emulates the mobile phone camera from the 2000s.
All others (even the big and popular apps) mimic this one.
Beware of fakes!

Ratings and Reviews
scarily accurate to a real digital camera
Upon my birthday coming up, I decided I wanted to get a digital camera for my birthday. I was initially going to ask for it for my birthday because taking pictures that look like they’re from the early 2000’s are really cool and nostalgic. It was late at night per usual, and I was growing impatient. I didn’t want to wait until my birthday to get one, so I decided to go on the App Store and try to find one that fits best. This one popped up and I instantly downloaded it after reading the description and the reviews. Let me tell you, I instantly fell in love with the pictures and how the app works. It’s scarily accurate to the real deal. Although, you only get 10 free shots before getting asked to pay $1.99 a year to get. Of course, I payed it and I’m ready to take cute photos haha. Definitely recommend.
Amazingly Terrible Pictures
In an age where every pixel of a photo can be scrutinized for perfection, I've found myself longing for the days when photos were gloriously grainy and fantastically fuzzy. Enter this gem of an app that catapults my state-of-the-art iPhone camera back to 2007 – a simpler time when selfies were blurry, and every snapshot had a charmingly terrible quality.
The app's nostalgic UI is a delightful nod to the past, complete with pixelated icons and the retro interface of an old Nokia cell phone. It's like having a time machine in your pocket, but instead of visiting historic events, you're revisiting the dark ages of digital photography.
Ironically, my cutting-edge camera, capable of capturing every pore on my face in startling detail, is now producing photos that look like they were taken with a potato. These photos are so fantastically awful that they're brilliant!
If you find yourself yearning for the days when your phone's camera was more "vintage charm" than "technological marvel," this app is your ticket to that bygone era. It's the perfect blend of high-tech meets hilariously low-res. And the incredibly tiny file-sizes will save you so much space. I can literally fit dozens of these bad boys on a single floppy disk!
Definitely Emulates the Early Digital Phone Cameras
Got this app on a whim to try and see if there was an app that can pull a similar function like the VHS Camera app on here and safe to say this one is the winner! It's simple and easy to use and the ability to convert videos with modern resolutions into compressed tiny videos that look like they came from the early Aughts is amazingly easy!
I do hope that recording videos in the future is easier to access instead of having to open up the menu every time, and maybe they can add more options for images and video effects if possible.
These are my suggestions however, and the app as it stands right now is close to perfect!
