Great Update from Kids Academy!

If you have youngsters who are just itching to use your iPhone, or iPad, why not give them something that is both entertaining and educational? I believe that it is never to early to support your child’s learning, and Kids Academy makes it quite easy for you to do so. This update combines the sights and sounds of animals, child friendly avatars, bright colors, fun shapes, and catchy to tunes to reinforce key early learning tools. Our younger kiddos loved testing out this app it right away. It can be a challenge to learn how to form numbers and letters correctly, but a fun tracing app, with immediate rewards and feedback, make it fun for those with the smallest hands. This particular app would work well for someone who is as young as 3, and is a fabulous way to reinforce handwriting and math skills for early elementary learners.

Another Fantastic App Update From Kids Academy!

This app teaches your child to trace numbers. As they trace the numbers correctly, their jar fills with fireflies. I love the encouraging voice on the app that says "oops" if your child makes a mistake or "good job" if they trace the numbers correctly. I also like the outline inside the numbers that your child can use their fingers to trace. I think this makes it easier and certainly teaches writing skills. There is a section in this app for your child's profile and a parent mode too. There are options in the parent mode to turn the music and sound on or off. You can also choose a male or female voice. In the child's profile area you can add their name and even a picture of them. I love that you can personalize the app for each child that uses the app.

Great for learning to write!

I think this tracing game is a great way to teach kids to work on their writing skills as an alternative to them writing each letter or number repeatedly on a blank sheet of paper (which is how I learned to write as a kid, and hated it). They use simple interactive games to make it easy to understand what you are supposed to do, like trace the number and earn bugs to fill your bug jar. It also has voice instructions so if you don’t trace it almost perfect, it tells you to try again, but you can also move onto the next letter/number if you want. This app also lets you create multiple kids’ profiles, so your kids can share the device but learn at their own pace, which sounds like a nifty feature for my niece and nephew.
